This policy explains what data Paper Effects collects, what it never collects, and how your work stays private. The short version: the tool is designed so that your content is computed on your own device, and the only data we ever see is standard, anonymous website traffic.
Everything you do in The Studio happens locally in your browser. Keywords are rendered on an HTML canvas on your device, sound effects are synthesised with your browser audio engine, and GIF encoding runs in JavaScript on your machine. Your keywords, exports and settings are never uploaded to us, never logged on a server, and never shared with anyone, because they never leave your computer in the first place.
Like almost every website, we use privacy-respecting traffic analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand anonymous usage: page views, approximate region, device type, browser, and how long pages are viewed. This data is aggregated and does not identify you. It exists for one reason, to know which parts of the site are useful so we can improve them.
Google Analytics sets cookies to remember anonymous session information. You can block or delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings without losing any tool functionality, the Studio works perfectly with cookies blocked. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (like IP addresses, strictly for security and delivery) under its own privacy policy. Traffic analytics are provided by Google under its own policy. Our social links point to X (twitter.com), and we have no control over what happens once you visit external platforms.
Paper Effects has no login, no newsletter and no forms that ask for your name or email. We literally could not store personal data about you if we wanted to, there is no input for it anywhere on the site.
The service is a general audience creative tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, beyond anonymous analytics.
Since we store no personal data, there is nothing to export, correct or delete. If you still have a question about your privacy on this site, reach out to us on X and we will answer as fast as we can.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
